About Us

Here in Australia we are blessed with a huge variety of timbers to use in different applications however, as woodworkers being able to acquire quality craft timbers is not so straight forward. This is what was our primary motivation in starting our business that sources quality timbers and makes them readily available for retail purchase.

Also, over time we have become more aware as to the harvesting and collecting practices carried out in Australia and aim to supply timber that we know where it orginates and how it was sourced.

This business is a labour of love and as timber workers we strive to acquired the best variety of timber available in one place. Greg and Ruth are endlessly on the hunt for great timbers sourced across Australia and the world from harvesting, millers, road side collection, arborists or heritage collections(from retired wood workers).

We teach through a skills-based approach, meaning the focus is on hands-on, practical learning rather than just completing a project. Students work with a wide range of tools — from basic knives and chisels through to specialised gouges and micro tools — and learn how to select, use, and maintain each one. We also cover timber knowledge, design thinking, and planning, so you build real confidence and craftsmanship that carries beyond the classroom.

There is always a challenge to offer classes for people with different skill levels which is why we offer a range of classes catering for new to experienced carvers.
