Known as Sycamore in British Isles it grows to a height of up to 35m and has no clear separation between the heart wood and sapwood. It produces a hard warring closed grain timber with many uses. This piece came from a tree which was salvaged and then left to spalt for several years before processing and has developed rich colours that further enhance the figure present.
