Large Figured Myrtle Beech(Nothifagus Cunninghamii)
This timber was from a salvaged tree that has spent some time on the ground with rot beginning on one side. It’s not uncommon that when the rot gets into Myrtle Beech that some great discolouration happens and in this case the sapwood has become a rich golden colour. Figured throughout and cut just off the 1/4 this large piece is well suited for instrument making and many other uses.
